Due to her poor command over the Hindi language, her voice was dubbed over by the voice actress Mona Ghosh Shetty. Nargis Fakhri was born on October 20, 1979, was born to Mohammed Fakhri, and Marie Fakhri. Aliya is her sister. Her mother Marie Fakhri and father Mohammed Fakhri are both Czechs. When she was only seven years old, she and her parents divorced. Her father died shortly after. Her mother Marie Fakhri is a former police officer. Nargis is an Global Citizen due to her mix of Pakistani and Czech nationality, as well being a citizen of American citizenship. Fakhri began her modeling career as a model at the age of 16. She was living with her husband living in Copenhagen when she received an email informing her that Imtiaz Ali was looking to meet her in Prague to audition for an Indian film.
